Jujutsu Kaisen "Battle Royale": UI

DESCRIPTION

Mappa has been doing such a great job with the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, I had to make a UI project for the series!

 

This UI is for a mock Jujutsu Kaisen 3D fighting game, inspired by the Naruto Storm series.

*Some edited images from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime/manga were used in this project

When coming up with the design for the Main Menu Screen, I really wanted to highlight some key visuals from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, so each mode of gameplay has their own designated character visual and a unique transition to go with it.

Character Select

While the visible artwork of the characters represent who is unlocked, the character slots wrapped in curse seals represent locked characters. Characters that are available to be unlocked via DLC are represented in black silhouette.

In Game HUD

As I was making the design for the In Game HUD,  I made the Special gauge inspired by the flow of cursed energy as seen in the anime/manga.

 

The Burst gauge was made for players to use smaller-scale "special" attacks, to then build up energy to use their main special.
